JKSSB Exam Date 2026: Sub Inspector, Constable Exam Schedule for Home Department Posts

JKSSB Releases Exam Schedule for Home Department Posts: Sub Inspector, Constable Exams from November 29

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has announced the dates for six OMR based written examinations covering various posts under the Home Department. If you have applied for Sub Inspector, Constable, or related posts through JKSSB, this schedule tells you exactly when your exam is coming up.

The notice was issued on August 1, 2026, by Reyaz Ahmad Malik, Controller of Examinations at JKSSB, and it applies to candidates who applied under six different recruitment notifications.

Who This Affects

This schedule covers candidates for the following posts:

  • Sub Inspector (Notification 02 of 2024, Item 07)
  • Constable Executive (Notification 12 of 2025, Item 273 to 274)
  • Constable Armed, IRP and SDRF (Notification 14 of 2025, Item 323 to 324)
  • Sub Inspector Telecommunication (Notification 11 of 2025, Item 272)
  • Constable Telecommunication (Notification 15 of 2025, Item 325)
  • Constable Photographer (Notification 15 of 2025, Item 326)

If you had applied under any of these notification numbers, this exam calendar is meant for you.

Exam Dates at a Glance

Here is when each exam will be held:

Post Notification No. Item No. Exam Date
Sub Inspector 02 of 2024 07 29 November 2026
Constable (Executive) 12 of 2025 273 to 274 13 December 2026
Constable (Armed/IRP/SDRF) 14 of 2025 323 to 324 20 December 2026

Constable (Photographer) 15 of 2025 326 30 December 2026

Notice how the exams are spread across five weeks, from late November straight through to the end of December. If you are preparing for more than one of these posts, you now have a clear runway to plan your revision around each date.

When Will You Get Your Admit Card

JKSSB has confirmed that admit cards will be issued seven days before each respective exam date. So, for instance, if you are appearing for the Sub Inspector exam on November 29, expect your admit card around November 22.

The board has not released a fixed admit card download date for each post individually, only the seven day rule ahead of the exam. Keep this in mind so you are not caught off guard closer to your exam.

What You Should Do Now

This is an advance notice, meaning JKSSB wants candidates to start preparing early rather than scrambling once admit cards arrive. Here is what makes sense at this stage:

  • Note down your specific exam date based on your notification and item number.
  • Mark the expected admit card window, which is seven days before your exam.
  • Check the JKSSB website regularly, since the board has specifically asked candidates to keep visiting jkssb.nic.in for updates.
  • Begin your exam preparation now, especially if your date falls in the earlier part of the schedule.

What Happens Next

JKSSB is expected to release the formal admit cards closer to each exam date, along with exam centre details and reporting instructions, which are not part of this current notice. The official notification does not specify the exam pattern, syllabus, or reporting time for these tests.

Until then, treat this schedule as your reference point and keep checking the official JKSSB website for further updates and the actual admit card release.
