What will the Strategic Advisor actually do

- Prior advisory or strategic work with government departments, government institutions, universities, or other public sector bodies
- Demonstrated work in institutional branding, communication strategy, or event management
- Documents that back up every claim you make about your qualifications and experience
If you cannot provide paperwork to support your claims, your EOI may not be considered strong, since the university has specifically asked for documentary evidence.

Notice how heavily funding experience is weighted, nearly half the total marks come from your ability to bring in money or work with institutions on funding. If you are preparing your profile, this is where you should put your strongest examples forward.

Interested professionals need to send in three things:
- A detailed CV or professional profile
- Documentary evidence supporting your eligibility and experience
- A short note explaining how you understand the assignment and what approach you would take

Deadline
You need to get your application in by 31 July 2026. The notice is clear that late or incomplete submissions will not be considered, so give yourself enough time to gather your documents and get everything in order well before the date.
Pay and duration of the engagement
The selected advisor will get a retainership fee of Rs 75,000 per month. On top of this, if you take up specific assignments, you may receive additional professional fees, but these will be governed by a separate Engagement Order or Memorandum of Understanding, and paid only from the relevant project or funder budget rather than the university's own funds.
The engagement will initially run for six months. It can be extended, but only if your performance is satisfactory and the university continues to need your services.
Important terms you should know before applying
A few conditions in the notice are worth reading carefully, because they change what this role actually means for you.
This is purely an advisory engagement. It does not count as employment under the university, and it does not entitle you to any regular appointment, extension, absorption, or any other employment benefit. Even if your engagement is ended at any stage, you will have no claim against the university.
Submitting an EOI itself does not guarantee you anything. The university has reserved the right to accept or reject any or all applications, in full or in part, without giving a reason.
You will also be expected to maintain strict confidentiality about any information or data you come across during your work, and you cannot disclose it without written approval. If you have any conflict of interest, you are required to disclose it, and you cannot take up any other assignment that could work against the university's interests while you are engaged with them.
