Krishi Udyami Recruitment 2026 in Ganderbal: Eligibility, Documents and Last Date to Apply

The Office of the District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, has reopened applications for the engagement of Krishi Udyami (KU), also called Agricultural Entrepreneur, across the district. This is a repeat advertisement, issued as Notification No. ADDC/02 of 2026, dated 17 July 2026, and it follows earlier communication from the Chief Agriculture Officer on this same engagement.

What This Engagement Is About

The DDC office is inviting applications, on a prescribed format, for candidates to work as Krishi Udyami under a contract. The engagement runs for two years to begin with, and it can be extended. According to the notification, this extension happens annually and depends on satisfactory performance, which the document refers to as the performance of the "FLE."

What Will You Actually Be Doing?

As a Krishi Udyami, you'll operate a Kisan Khidmat Ghar, or KKG, at the panchayat level. These centres are part of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme being run across Jammu & Kashmir. The notification says the full operational details of this role are laid out in Annexure III, which was not part of the page we reviewed, so we can't describe your daily responsibilities beyond this.

Positions are open across the panchayat level KKGs that have already been identified in Ganderbal district. The complete list of these KKGs, along with how many positions exist at each, is given in Annexure I. That annexure wasn't included in the notification we looked at, so we're not able to tell you the exact number of posts or which panchayats they cover. We'd suggest checking the annexure directly with the DDC office before you apply, so you know which KKG you're applying for.

Who Can Apply

The age criteria is straightforward: you need to be between 21 and 45 years old, calculated as on the last date for submitting your application.

On the education side, the notification accepts either a diploma or a degree, and it lists both clearly:

A diploma in Agriculture and Allied Fields, meaning a Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Sciences, Forestry, Fisheries, Sericulture, Agriculture Engineering, BHT, or BAT, from a government recognised institution.

A graduation in Science or Agriculture and Allied Fields, meaning a BSc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries, Sericulture, a BTech in Agriculture Engineering, or a BVSc & AH, again from a government recognised institution.

If you hold either of these, you're eligible to apply. The notification also mentions that candidates with a postgraduate qualification in science or agriculture and allied subjects, or a computer certification of three months or longer from a government recognised institution, will get additional preference. This won't disqualify you if you don't have it, but it works in your favour if you do.

For the complete selection criteria, the notification points to Annexure II. That part wasn't visible in the document we reviewed, so we can't tell you exactly how marks or preference points are calculated. We'd recommend asking for this annexure when you collect your application form.

How You Get Paid

This isn't a salaried post. The notification describes the engagement as being on a self earning, or entrepreneurial, basis. In other words, your earnings will come from how you run the KKG rather than a fixed monthly pay cheque. If earning potential is a major factor in your decision, it's worth requesting this annexure before you apply.

The Room Requirement You Shouldn't Overlook

This is a condition that's easy to miss on a first read, but it matters. Every candidate has to submit an affidavit, attested by a 1st Class Magistrate, stating that they will personally arrange two rooms, roughly 750 to 800 square feet in total, at their own cost, to run the KKG from. The notification is clear that no rent will be paid by the department for this space. If you don't already have access to a suitable space, it's worth sorting this out early, since the affidavit needs to be ready at the time of application.

Documents to Attach With Your Application

You'll need to attach self attested photocopies of the following:

• Date of Birth Certificate, meaning your Matriculation certificate
• Marks certificates of all your qualifying examinations
• Domicile Certificate or Panch Ward Certificate
• Character Certificate issued by a competent authority

Keep in mind that originals will need to be produced later, during verification, so don't misplace them once you've applied.

Last Date to Apply

31 July 2026 is the deadline for receipt of applications, as stated in the notification. There's no separate mention of a fee anywhere in the document, and no indication of whether an extension is possible, so we'd treat this date as firm.

Where and How to Submit Your Form

Completed application forms go to the Office of the District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal. You can either hand it in person at Room No. 241, ADDC Office, 1st Floor, Mini Secretariat, Ganderbal, or send it by Registered Post. The notification doesn't say where the prescribed application format itself is available for download or collection, so you'll likely need to check with the DDC office directly for that.

A Few Things Worth Remembering

• If your application is incomplete, it will be rejected outright, and you won't get a second notice to fix it. It's worth double checking every document before you submit.
• If you're sending your form by post, any delay in transit is on you. The notification is explicit that the department won't take responsibility for postal delays.
• Keep your original documents ready, since they'll be checked during verification, even though you only need photocopies at the time of applying.
