University of Kashmir ITEP Admission 2026: Apply Online by July 23

University of Kashmir Reopens ITEP Admissions for 2026: Apply Online by July 23

The University of Kashmir has reopened admissions to its Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the 2026 session. The Directorate of Admissions & Competitive Examinations issued this notification on July 20, 2026, citing a few seats that are still lying vacant in the programme.

If you appeared in the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency, and you have not yet secured admission anywhere, this is a fresh window worth looking at. But you will need to move fast, because the entire process runs over just a few days.

Who Can Apply

You are eligible if you have scored at least 50% marks in your Senior Secondary examination (12th) or its equivalent, from any recognized board. This also covers students who completed school under the newer 5+3+3+4 structure introduced by the National Education Policy 2020.

The university has also pointed candidates to its Prospectus 2026 for the complete eligibility criteria specific to ITEP. You can find it on www.kashmiruniversity.net under the Admissions tab, and we would recommend going through it before you apply, since it likely carries programme specific details that this notification does not repeat.

There is one more instruction worth noting here. If you had already applied online through the university portal earlier, you are required to email your application form along with your name and academic marks to admissions@kashmiruniversity.ac.in. The notification does not explain why this step is needed separately, so if you fall in this category, it may help to reach out to the university directly for clarity.

Important Dates

What When
Online application window opens July 21, 2026
Last date to submit application July 23, 2026
Selection list to be issued July 24, 2026
Last date to complete admission formalities July 29, 2026 (working days only, up to 4:00 pm)

That gives you roughly three days to apply and one day between the closing date and the selection list. If you are planning to apply, we would suggest not leaving it for the last day.

Application Fee

You will need to pay a non refundable online fee of Rs. 550 for this programme as part of the submission process.

How to Apply

The application has to be submitted online, and the university has laid out the process in clear steps.

  1. Visit www.kashmiruniversity.net or www.kashmiruniversity.ac.in and click on the Admissions link. Take a moment to read the instructions on the site before you start filling anything.
  2. Register yourself first by clicking on "Register as Student." Note down your username and password carefully, since you will need them again.
  3. Log in, enter your registration number, and proceed to the application form.
  4. Fill in the required details and upload a recent passport size photograph.
  5. Review everything you have entered. If something needs correcting, use the "Previous" button to go back, fix it, and then submit the form.
  6. Pay the Rs. 550 fee online. Once done, take a printout of your form and note down your form number for future reference.
  7. Log in again to check your application status. Make sure it shows "Fee Received." If it does not, your application will be treated as incomplete and rejected outright, and you will only be able to raise a query about it online.

You do not need to submit a hard copy of your application form or fee receipt to the university. Just keep the printouts safely with you for your own records.

The university has also cautioned candidates against waiting until the last date or the last minute to apply. If technical issues or heavy traffic on the portal stop you from submitting on time, the Directorate has made clear it will not be held responsible.

Checking Your Fee and Application Status

Once you submit your form, check its status after three days. If it still does not show "Fee Received," or shows "Fee Reconciliation Pending," raise a query online through your dashboard. If that does not resolve the issue, you can visit the IT Cell near the DSW Office, close to Rumi Gate on the University of Kashmir campus, carrying your application form, fee receipt, and other documents. According to the notification, this needs to be done within two days of the last date of submission, that is, by July 24, 2026. After this, the university says it will not entertain any further claims.

What Happens After Selection

Selected candidates will need to complete their admission formalities by July 29, 2026, and only on working days, before 4:00 pm.

It is worth knowing here that the Directorate will not be checking or verifying your academic or category certificates while you submit your form online. That responsibility rests with you, to make sure you genuinely meet the eligibility criteria for the programme you are applying to. Your documents will only be verified later, by the concerned department, once you are provisionally selected and go through the admission formalities. If it turns out at any point that you did not actually meet the eligibility criteria, or that you concealed or misrepresented any information, your admission can be cancelled, even after provisional selection.

The notification also mentions that your submission and eventual selection remain subject to the university's Admission Policy 2026.

Seats and Reservation

The notification only mentions that a few seats are vacant in the programme. It does not specify the exact number of seats available or how reservation categories apply to this particular round. The official notification does not specify this information, so you may want to check the Prospectus 2026 or contact the Directorate directly if this affects your application.

Who to Contact

For queries specifically about ITEP admissions, you can reach the Admission Coordinator, Dr. Mohd. Amin, at 7006312191.

For any other queries, you can call 7006795110 or 9797243919, during office hours only.

Before You Apply

To sum up what matters most: applications open July 21 and close July 23, 2026. The selection list comes out the very next day, on July 24, and if you make it to that list, you have until July 29 to finish your admission formalities. Given how tight this window is, it would help to keep your marksheets, photograph, and other basic documents ready before you sit down to fill the form.
