GNM Lateral Entry 2026 Provisional Selection List: JKBOPEE Round 1 Allotment, Dates and Documents

GNM Lateral Entry 2026: JKBOPEE Releases Provisional Selection List After Round 1 Counselling

If you applied for the GNM Lateral Entry Course 2026 in Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh, your wait is over. JKBOPEE has released the provisional selection list after the first round of online counselling, and if your name appears in it, here is everything you need to do next.

The Board issued this through Notification No. 121 BOPEE of 2026, dated 25 July 2026, and the list itself is attached as Annexure A on the official website.

What Exactly Has Been Released

This is a provisional seat allotment list. It shows which candidates have been allotted a seat, in which college or institution, and under which category, based on the choices they filled during the online counselling window that ran from 16 July to 23 July 2026 (5:00 PM).

We want to be clear about the word "provisional" here. It means your seat is not final yet. It becomes confirmed only once you report to your allotted institution with the required documents and complete the admission formalities within the given timeline.

Check Your Name and Allotment Correctly

The full list, called Annexure A, is available only on the official JKBOPEE website, www.jkbopee.gov.in. We are not listing individual names here, so please visit the website directly, search using your application number, and note down these details carefully:

  • The institution you have been allotted
  • The discipline (GNM)
  • The category under which your allotment was made

Since the list runs across several pages, take your time while checking it rather than rushing through it once.

Important Dates You Cannot Miss

Two deadlines matter the most right now.

Representation window: If you feel there is an error in your allotment, you can raise a representation up to 26 July 2026, 4:00 PM. You will need to attach documentary evidence supporting your claim and email it to helpdeskjakbopee@gmail.com. The Board has made it clear that no physical representations will be accepted under any circumstances, so do not visit the office in person for this.

Reporting and admission window: If no further notice is issued after the representation period, this list becomes final. Provisionally selected candidates then need to report to their allotted college or institution between 28 July 2026 (11:30 AM onwards) and 31 July 2026 (up to 5:00 PM) to complete admission.

We would genuinely encourage you not to wait for the last day. The notification itself mentions that colleges will keep their admission counters open even on holidays specifically so students do not face last minute rush, and delaying only increases your own risk if something goes wrong with the online portal at the final hour.

Documents You Should Carry in Original

When you report to your allotted institution, keep these documents ready in original:

  1. Domicile certificate of UT of J&K or UT of Ladakh (candidates from Ladakh can use their ST certificate issued by the competent authority as domicile proof)
  2. Qualifying marks certificate of 12th class
  3. Date of birth certificate from Matriculation or Secondary School Certificate, issued by a recognized board
  4. Reserved category certificate, if applicable in your case
  5. Any other document your specific college may ask for

It is worth calling your allotted institution beforehand to confirm if they need anything beyond this list, along with details about the admission fee, since the notification advises candidates to check fee and document requirements directly with the college.

What Happens If You Do Not Join

This part is important, so read it carefully.

If you have been allotted a seat and you do not join the institution by 31 July 2026, 5:00 PM, your seat will automatically be treated as cancelled, and you lose your claim on it.

The same applies if you decide to cancel your admission yourself. You can do this by submitting a cancellation application before the same deadline, and the institution will process it on the admission portal. There is no fee charged for this cancellation.

A Rule Every Candidate Should Understand Before the Next Round

If you join your allotted seat in this round, or fail to join it, or join and later cancel it, you will not be allowed to apply again for that same course and discipline at that same institution in the second round of counselling.

However, you are not completely locked out. You can still opt for other courses or disciplines at the same institution, and you remain free to apply for any course or discipline at every other institution in the second round, subject to seat availability.

This rule exists mainly to prevent candidates from blocking the same seat repeatedly across rounds, so keep it in mind while deciding your next move.

A Word on Reserved Category Allotments

For candidates allotted under a reserved category, the Board has followed the provisions of S.O. 176 of 2024 dated 15 March 2024, read with S.O. 305 dated 21 May 2024. Institutions have also been directed to verify the authenticity of category certificates carefully wherever admission is granted against a reserved category.

If your allotment involves a category certificate, we would suggest keeping an extra copy ready along with the original, since colleges are expected to check this thoroughly before confirming your admission.

What the Notification Does Not Specify

The notification does not mention the total number of seats or vacancies filled in this round. It also does not specify the exact admission fee amount, as this is left to individual colleges to communicate. If you need this information, please contact your allotted institution directly.

Our Advice Before You Head to Your College

Do not carry photocopies alone, thinking you can submit originals later. The notification is specific about original documents being required at the time of reporting. Also, download your Provisional Allotment Letter from the portal before you go, since your college will need it to begin your admission process and issue your joining certificate.

If you are unsure whether you have successfully joined, the notification advises checking your joining status on the JKBOPEE portal itself rather than assuming it based on verbal confirmation from the college.
